Emma Mendenhall

(American, 1873-1964)

Emma Mendenhall was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1873.  She was a painter who specialized in landscapes, protraits, and flowers.  She traveled frequently, usually with fellow painter Dixie Selden, painting scenes of Mexico, Normandy, Brittany, Spain, and Italy.  Her summers were often spent along the New England coast where she painted with Annie Sykes. She died in 1964.
