Artists Statement:

We dream and, in our dreaming our unconscious gives us messages about ourselves and the world in which we live; messages not related to real actions but something related to the energy we draw from the world and from others in our awake or conscious moments. We awake and, almost without knowing, translate the unconscious revelations into the subconscious actions that will define the day. This painting, and these new works are intended to capture the magic of that split second that occurs between being asleep and awake, inviting us to stand briefly between the unconscious and conscious worlds, between dreams and reality. As the night sky, though dark, opens to us the universe and its infinite possibilities, daylight brings reality, the dawning, which is more defined and limited. We balance for an instant between the two; thoughts coming but no action being taken; a time of introspection, a time of asking what is important to us.
